"Entacapone is an inhibitor of catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT). It is used in combination with levodopa and carbidopa (Sinemet) to treat the end-of-dose 'wearing-off' symptoms of Parkinson's disease. "

Thank you. I seem to remember that the original post advised against taking agonists. I can’t remember why though.

"The most common adverse effects of dopamine agonists are nausea, orthostatic hypotension, hallucinations, somnolence, and impulse control disorders."
Impulse control disorders – compulsive gambling, sex, shopping, or eating. Some seniors have lost their retirement as a result. Dopamine agonists can also cause orthostatic hypotension - loss of blood pressure upon standing, which can be disabling.
