Anyone familiar with this machine? - Cure Parkinson's
Anyone familiar with this machine?
A CUE study evaluated 12 participants and attained a 12 point average improvement in the UPDRS part III:

It seems they compared patients' performance prior to and then when using this device in one sitting. They did not evaluate results after extended use. All patients did show some improvement. It also lacked a placebo group for comparison.
They are recruiting patients for clinical trial:

I'm not familiar with device, but I am familiar with the field. The theory underlying this device goes back to the 1800s, when Charcot noticed that PwP subjected to shaking on a train had decreased symptoms.
The hunt is on to find those frequencies and those senses which give therapeutic advantage. These range from low frequency devices such at the metronome working through sound, to high frequency devices such as DBS working through electrical stimulation.
I have been looking at this for years; starting with using a metronome to increase the speed of my movements. Before going on to writing a program that produces flashing images on a laptop (not for those who have problems with flashing lights). Both showed promise when used by me, but neither were properly trialed.

To get a feel for technology involved you could run a timer app on your smart phone, which is put in contact with your body, set to vibrate every few seconds.
The Charco device probably contains a vibrating motor controlled by a microcontroller, such as the Arduino.
I am trying contact this group. They are not responding. Ditto with Stanford Neurosurgery using ‘vibrotactile’ approach!
I volunteered myself some months ago and was told they didn't need anyone in my area. They send emails every so often which don't say very much. The cynic in me says they'll want me when they've got something to sell...

Hello, I’m very sorry to hear that this is how we made you feel, it was not in any way our intention to make you feel undervalued or valued only as a potential customer. We started Charco purely because we wanted to help people with Parkinson’s and this has been the motivation for the whole team throughout our work. I’m so sorry we’ve not been able to carry out testing in your area - we are a very small team and we have limited capacity for travel and testing. Having said that we will always continue to work hard to expand our team and capacity to involve as many people who want to take part as we possibly can. Once again, I am very sorry that you felt like this and if you want to talk with one of us about how we can do better, please do let us know, it is very important for us. Feel free to either respond directly here, or get in touch again via email at info@charconeurotech.com and we’ll be happy to help!

It is very important that we ensure you are heard, so could you please let us know what method you used so we ensure this doesn’t happen again? If you have any questions please do let us know and we will be happy to answer them either here, or via email at info@charconeurotech.com. If you’ve already tried to reach us through this email please do let us know as we’d be very keen to understand if there is any technical problem that might be causing this.
