I was prescribed Azilect in July of 2020, six weeks after taking it my walking became quite poor and has consistently gotten worse. Does anyone think I can assume it could be a side effect of the azilect?

Doubt it!
You should discuss this issue with the prescriber of this medication.
I was prescibed it when I was diagnosed and by the end of the week I could barely walk to the end of the block. I stopped it and could walk again.
