My dad aged 74 was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. Does Moringa powder really help with Parkinson's?

Does Moringa powder really helps with Parkinsons?
The jury is out on this, but no harm in trying 🌺
It is very much an acquired taste, even at half a tablespoon.
Yes, you need that much if you are to begin to approach a therapeutic dose.
For the tea, try lime juice to mask the taste. Pineapple in smoothies should help.
In order to form the active ingredient, known as moringin, moringa must be steeped in cool water for about 30 minutes.
I overdosed on broccoli seed (1.5 g daily) and it made my Parkinson's worse. Presumably moringa could have the same effect, and according to wriga, moringa is more potent than broccoli seed. So according to this understanding it is important to stick with very low dosages. Wriga recommends .5 g for the broccoli seed, so the proper moringa dosage would be considerably less than that. If you going to experiment with this a sensitive scale to measure out sub gram quantities would be in order.
Thanks park_bear quite acquainted with the temperature for the tea preparation.
Tried one full tablespoon and had a strange effect: got a bit light headed.
So I still brew full tablespoon in a mug but drink it in two sessions.
Filtering out the powder is a bit of a headache 🤕
Beyond that I would like to get to the point where I can enjoy it. So plan to use orange peel to see how the masking goes.
Hopefully I should have it fully road tested to begin regular dosing in the new year🌺
It took two weeks of steady usage for me to realize what I was doing had a bad effect. So I would start small and not increase until couple of weeks have elapsed. Do keep me posted – very interested in your results!
Do note I am just the care taker testing out this concoction for my spouse.
Nonetheless will report my experiences after a steady two weeks.
If I am fine she will be up next 🌺✌🏾🌺
What is the bad effect?
Increase in tremor and motor impairment. Had to increase my levodopa dosage. It goes without saying that this is a really terrible adverse effect for a treatment that was supposed to improve Parkinson's.
That’s unfortunate to hear. I do wonder though - did you say you overdosed on broccoli seeds? If that’s the case and not from using the germinated sprouts, it’s possible you could’ve had an adverse reaction to the antinutrients commonly found in the seeds, such as phytic acid, etc.
Moringa lowers my blood pressure too much. When you feel lightheaded, be sure to watch your BP dropping too low.
Would Moringa tea bags work? Thanks, Rescuema!
Yes, it should.
Thank you. I mix Moringa with Green tea for my husband and myself. At times, he doesn't want to drink it, nevertheless I prepare it every day. He never liked tea, but I always loved it.
Moringa tea has many benefits, and adding fresh lemon juice can improve the taste for some. However, you do need to remember that heat deactivates the myrosinase enzyme. To salvage the benefit derived from glucomoringin + myrosinase => moringin (active isothiocyanate as in sulforaphane), augment it with myrosinase containing foods, such as arugula and coleslaw.
Have you found the right dose of broccoli seed Park Bear, is it helping?
After that misadventure in no hurry to repeat the experience.
My prior comment was insufficient - the aggravation of symptoms has been long-lasting - persistent after quitting. Anyone contemplating trying broccoli seed, broccoli sprouts, or moringa should be extremely cautious.
Never heard of it . If it worked I would expect I would have

I ate it as a vegetable curry when I lived in southern India.
Cooked with using fresh moringa leaves in lentils (turmeric is a must have with southern Indian curries) . There were some precautions (you pinch of the fine little leaf stems as it makes it bitter). Very much an acquired taste but also spicing different in the many versions cooked in thesame region.
The leaves are always picked fresh off the trees which most suburban older gardens have. I now also know that you generally do not pick the leaves in certain seasons of the year. (there may be some concentration of chemicals relating to that ; many Keralan families have some traditional Ayurvedic health tips handed down informally.
I know for a fact that modern commercially marketed organic varieties do not use any of these principles for their harvesting. Also nobody drinks moringa tea in India unless someone has a version from a so called healthfood store.
I sometmes recreate the lentil curry with spinach and a teaspoon full of moringa powder sourced from my Indian home (I live in London)
