My PD husband loved chess, he lived to play chess. If he lost he was upset for several days, thinking his mind was deserting him. When he won he was elated. All in all, he loved chess so much he didn't care how bad he felt later. Do whatever you like while you can!

My hubby loves bridge. It is his obsession. He is struggling though to rearrange the cards now as his hands don’t work which is causing anxiety. It is great for social interaction though. He manages by sitting at a table after a sympathetic person who has just played the hand. They sort it into suits before they pass the hand to him after they have played. This has worked for him. The actual playing of the hand doesn’t stress him as he is a top player.

If you want enjoy taxing your brain try Canasta, or relax with Ace/King/Queen(like Rummy with a Wild card each hand)

Bridge is worth the stress given the mental gymnastics it forces on you!! I almost count it as exercise (just kidding).

i need chess to keep my left brain going.....it stresses me and i shake more but its trade off for brain challenge benefits ie: reducing dementia risk etc.....new neural nets formed ....cheers!
