any magic potions, supplements, herbs?

I just started sneezing, my husband just had it, I’d really like to keep it from getting worse. Now that I’m finally getting better sleep. Sneezing kept waking me last night.

I’ve heard megadose vitamin A 50-100,000 iu for 3-5 days, same with vitamin D, 3-5 gms of V. C. (Or more), 30-60 mg zinc picolate.

I already take a a lot of C , my D levels are nice and high, and I take 30 of zinc daily,

Emergen C Immune+

If you think you are getting a cold, take 2 a day for awhile and then once a day. It also helps my stiffness. 🥊

Gargle with salt water once a day whenever you feel that you have been in contact with germs. If you manage it then draw the salt water up through your nose as well

I'd draw 10cc of my blood into a syringe then inject 5cc that blood into each thigh muscle.

Prolly should have explained. It's AHT: AutoHemoTherapy. An old treatment for infections, bacterial, fungal or viral. Monocytes are the body's way of dealing with infection. After an AHT treatment the monos go from 2% to 22% for one week. The monos attack and kill any foreign tissues in the body.

I use Zinc in the form of the over the counter medicine Zicam. As others have said, take it at the first signs and it is remarkably effective.

I thought Zicam took zine out because of law suits about loss of smell. They must have put back in.

"Zinc is present in homeopathic medications such as Zicam® cold remedies, which are used to shorten the duration of the common cold and help relieve nasal congestion." zicam.com/faqs/zinc-and-colds

"On June 16, 2009, the FDA advised consumers to discontinue use of three nasally administered versions of Zicam Cold Remedy—Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel, Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs, and Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Kids Size (a discontinued product)—because the FDA had associated a serious risk of anosmia with them.[20] The advisory did not implicate other Zicam products. The FDA indicated that it had received reports of a loss of smell from approximately 130 Zicam Cold Remedy users since 1999." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zicam

Review of products--indicates only the 3 products mention by FDA

I appreciate knowing this information about Zicam and how zinc is no longer part of the formulation. Thank you for pointing this out.

I think the link below summarizes well and confirms your observations,

The new nasal products do not work as well as the old formulations.

I mix mulleín, yarrow, meadosweet and sage in equal parts and have tea. Half tsp of each. Alternatively i make a tea of ginger root, cayenne pepper and lemon and keep sipping all day. Add a bit of honey if you must. Riccola elderberry pastilles are good for cough but do not take more than 3 a day as they have xylitol...

My go to which works wonders for me and my family (even my daughter who was skeptical was a convert!) - Wellness Formula!!! You can get it on Amazon. I recently started sneezing, took one and now I’m fine! It’s amazing. White and turquoise blue container.

Zinc plus copper (zinc's necessary co-factor), updose a bit, and asap, but do not overdose.

Also, and immediately: zinc cold lozenges, dissolve them in your mouth, they are supposed to make your throat slippery as a physical mechanism, which then makes it harder for viruses cascading down from your nasal area to latch/grab onto the back of your throat (from which they burrow into your throat and through to your blood system). The viruses instead are supposedly then shunted down into your stomach where stomach acid kills them, meanwhile also buying a bit more time for your immune system to design or call up sufficient antibodies to get into the fight as early as possible.

Then keep up with my regular multi and b-complex vitamins, which really is as per usual.

Advice for anyone with a compromised immune system: stay away from child school and daycare settings and those who work there...especially during an emerging "cold season"... they bring everything home with them and spread the wealth far and wide. Learned this from practical family experience.

A good general rule of thumb...also stay out of collective healthcare settings, especially hospitals and urgent care settings...I don't know if you know this, but they have sick people in them! :)

Lastly, a good (or at least good tasting) chicken soup, either scratch or canned, has a chemical in it that when eaten hot does get your nasal passages to relieve nasal congestion, it relieves the congestion for a while.

Great, maybe you can tell that pvw2 person what to do with his terazosin problem, including especially following up with his physician, you can never tell from his texts whether he's going to just ever work with the medical people he needs to and instead comes looking for all of us medically uninformed people...God knows why.

The only reference I have for Emergen C is myself and a few friends. It's worked for pain and stiffness and for colds 🥊

That was kaypeeoh. He’s a retired veterinarian who experiments on himself extensively, according to his own statements.

AHT is an old remedy. But a good one. Dr Moura explains it well in the 2 hour u-tube video. It probably doesn't help that he's speaking Portuguese. But I've seen it work in my veterinary patients. And myself. I had a DVT that wasn't responding to treatments. So I tried AHT and it worked.
