This is significant because diesel has no additives like gasoline, which has additives to increase octane level.

This study used zebrafish and cultured human neurons. It does not rise to the level of proof but it is plausible. Link to study here: academic.oup.com/toxsci/adv...

Not just zebra fish. Those famous truck drivers who regularly demonstrate PD related results which don't repeat in humans.

But also a tendency in the title to imply sole responsibility is diesel.

It's worth remembering why this syndrome is called Parkinson's disease

I theorize the cause of ALS, and I belive other neurodegenerative disorders is cyanide exposure. Combustion forms toxic complex chemicals including formaldehyde and cyanide. Many chemical reactions and naturally occurring biological processes form toxic carbon-nitrogen bonds. Diesel exhaust has also been linked to cancer.

Medical experts have probably been treating what we now call Parkinson's disease for thousands of years.

Symptoms and possible treatments for Parkinson's were discussed in Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical practice that's been around since as early as 5,000 B.C. A condition like Parkinson's was also mentioned in the first Chinese medical text, Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen, more than 2,500 years ago.
