So true and I know that it’s true. In August, I was in the hospital for a day and I was not able to get my Rytary on time and in the required dosage. Luckily, I only had a day off my regular dosage.
It is commonplace for Parkinson's patients to not get their meds on time, or even at all, in hospitals. There is one simple solution to this problem, but most medical control freaks will not allow patients to be in charge of their meds in hospitals.
There is also a possibly better solution, which would be to ask the MDS to intervene. I considered placing an emergency call to the doctor , but decided against it.
I wasn’t sure if he would even be allowed to intervene or if I would be interfering in some hospital and doctor protocol. My MDS works for UCSF and I was hospitalized at Stanford.
