My back was getting sore from a constant slouch it’s hard to fight with Parkinson’s I had someone teach me how to use a rowing machine correctly it has helped so much with my back and my abs. Anything is better than a plank!

I use a rowing machine. Agree that good form is essential. Using it in interval training mode currently as find it easier to hit high intensity if I row 1km fast and then recover for a minute and do that repeatedly.

Good luck. You really need to warm up before and cool down afterwards. I learnt that the hard way with a repetitive strain injury (shoulder tendonitis) :-( but no problems now. There are some useful videos out there on technique and breathing.

I do crunches and planks and a lot of lifts while standing. My back is really weak but that preceded PD by years. My last attempt at a marathon I kept falling because of my back. Gave up around 6 miles into the race.
