My question would be - are you taking other b complexes to make sure you're not getting deficient in other Bs.

No I’m not. Would this help?

Yes, most likely especially if you find B1 seems to worsen the issue on its own. All Bs are needed as co-factors along with magnesium for mitochondrial function. I like methyl b complexes. I personally take Pure Encapsulation's B Complex Plus, but any well balanced clean formulation should work. Also you can be deficient in B6 due to C/L - this is well documented. Guess what B6 helps with? Melatonin production. Take all Bs away from your P meds.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it.

My RBD is completely controlled by sling 1mg of clonazepam before bed. If you are worried that your B vitamins have been reduced by medication, have the levels checked.

It's definitely wise to confirm the B6 level while on P meds. In the US, vitamin lab tests are rarely covered by the insurance but if you can afford it I highly recommend it. When supplementing, I recommend highly bioavailable P5P (PLP) rather than pyridoxine that could cause nerve toxicity. Also please keep in mind that a high dose of any B alone could cause deficiency in others.

Mine went away taking melatonin. Check out the post Sundowning/melatonin as well as another post that is linked in that post. Melatonin is probably your best bet.

For many elders, melatonin supplementation can be very helpful. As always, caution is advised with any hormone supplementation, especially pertaining to the dosage.

saraoutwest,

Melatonin might be beneficial for RBD among its many potential health benefits!

This study suggests that melatonin may also be helpful in preventing injury due to RBD :

My RBD is 95% controlled with 1mg of clonazapan and 3 mg of melatonin. I take 2 grams of b1 also and I have to say that I very rarely have an episode. So maybe the b1 helps, but maybe not. I just don’t know for sure.

My neurologist recommended melatonin.
