I was diagnosed after foot surgery. And I have pins In two toes.
I've read that Parkinson's can be triggered by a major physical incident. My started right after I fell and broke my ribs.
I started a resting tremor and then diagnosed with PD right after my first knee replacement! Wow! What a coincidence! Wonder what the connection could be, if any. They say trauma can trigger PD, and my knee replacement was the worst thing I had been through up until then. Makes you wonder, huh?
My parkinsonism started immediately following a bunionectomy. Others have posted their PD or parkinsonism started following surgery. I do believe PD and parkinsonism can be triggered by surgery.
Mine was after knee surgery.
My husband was diagnosed right after open heart surgery with 4 bypasses.
