God I wish I could do this study!! My enteric nerve has been so compromised! Motility is awful and heartburn is the worst. 🙄😳😩

What are the eligibility requirements, and when and where is the next trial phase?

"worked fine"...

any chance you could be a lot more specific. The study specs were somewhat vague if I remember. This phase 1 was all about safety and tolerability so what did it actually improve in terms of your PD symptoms? Anything objective? Or was it purely subjective.

Seems an extreme drug to reduce constipation which is not inherent with PD.

Constipation was a primary problem. I forget exactly the day, but probably around the 6-8th day significant improvement occurred and by 10 days it was 95% relieved.

They started me on 6 pills a day and then every 3 days added a pill. When I got to 9 pills, it made me throw up. They wanted me to stay at 8, but I respectfully declined explaining that I was not about to throw up every day for their experiment and if they didn't agree to lower the dose today, I was out.

After the trial ended, the relief lasted 10 days.

One other HU forum member participated in the trial and posted essentially the same experience. That was last year.

The stuff works (on me.)

What you mean not inherent? Constipation is very common in PD.

MBA: Common is NOT "inherent".

IOW, many people have constipation but who are not PD.

So, I don't understand what you're saying. Are you saying that constipation is not a Parkinson's symptom that a significant percent, probably half, of PWP deal with?

At one time or another, probably a lot, but what does it matter?

Maybe it's not inherent for you, but for those of us with PD who suffer serious daily constipation it is a real problem

B1 high dose cures really bad constipation for me. Also the only symptom my neurologist asked me about so understood it was a common problem with pwp

Based on the following survey article, it appears that constipation affects greater than 50% of PWPs :

So definitely a problem. In the general public, the range is more like 12 to 19%.

Thanks! I’m curious if you saw any other motor benefits besides constipation?
