needing help to find good PD neurologist in New Zealand...

we live in New Zealand.. auckland to be precise.

does anyone from nz on this site go to a good Dr/ neurologist or even alternative practitioner.

my husband goes to the hospital Neuro but he is NOT helpful..at all.

he is just taking mucuna Puriens (not sinimet ). B1. tru niagen .,,but dare not tell Dr that as he said he hasn't even heard of mucuna.

would be nice to talk to a a PD Dr who is more open.

Hi. I saw a neurologist last week at ACH Julian Bauer. He was great. I was thinking of going private, but I was happy with him as he was really kind, didn't rush me, and answered all my questions. Otherwise I hear Barry Snow (private) is good too. Good luck. Sara

Julian Bauer sounds good. I will phone ACH and ask them who they would suggest given my hubby is not taking sinimet... although Neuro we saw thinks he is. we thought he would growl..

Just ask to see another neurologist at th hospital until you find someone who suits.. Jenny Pereira is good.

I thought they were all male neurologists at auckland hospital.

I'll phone and and chat to them.

I am not sure how she is re alternative treatments. She is approachable though. You could speak with the. PD nurse.

I have heard that Dr Barry Snow is very good, my girlfriend here in Nelson, went to Auckland to see him privately and was very happy with him.
