I used SamE for a while and it worked quite well. Then not so well. After many years of ups and downs, starting C/ L took care of my depression 100%. This doesn't happen for everyone but I have met others who have had the same experience.

I decided not to take any after reading the warning on the box: "Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease should not use Sam-e".

Although I had found lots of info saying it was good (prior to ordering it...), here is some of the warnings I found afterwards:

SAMe can chemically change levodopa in the body and decrease the effectiveness of levodopa. Taking SAMe along with levodopa might make Parkinson's disease symptoms worse.

You just can't win! One study says it's good for PD and then another study says it can worsen symptoms! You might beat the depression, but then your other symptoms might worsen, ugh!
