Hi, yes I take half of my sinamet prescribed dosage and take macuna inbetween. My plan is to try and take as little sinamet as possible. Because the side affects are almost as bad as the PD. My regime is: 7 am, 1 macuna by Now, then at 9 am 1 tbsp macuna powder bought from Amazon. 11 am 1/2 tablet of sinamet 100/25, then at 1pm 1 Now capsule. Then at 5 pm 1/ 2 sinamet. Then St 8:30 PM 1 macuna. Then at 2 am 1 sinamet cr. Then I'm back to 7 am. If I have a stressful afternoon I'll take another tbsp of macuna powder. I also use barlowe s macuna capsules 1 at 830 PM instead of the now macuna. Barlowe is stronger for a better sleep. I was diagnosed 8 yrs ago . I hope I'm not overdoing the macuna. I have passed this all by my nuerologist and he's fine with it. He keeps telling me to take more sinamet

Thanks for your post. I have not been feeling good lately so was trying to cut back on seminet and add more zandopa(mucuna).

Today I am trying 1 seminet with 1 tsp zandopa together. I am also growing fava beans and consuming the sprouts during the day. Total I take 4 seminet and the zandopa. Hope this is ok.

I read on this site that we should keep our daily levadopa intake under 1000mg. The trouble with the macuna is its hard to measure. Someone said Now macuna capsules are 15 % levadopa and Barlowe is 40. How that can be calculated into mgs is beyond me. But the reaction to macuna in my body feels like less than the half sinamet I take. I think the macuna is healthier than the sinamet.

Purchase a jeweler’s scale. They sell on amazon relatively inexpensive or purchase capsules. The amount of levodopa on each is noted on their containers.
