Hi, I read some info here on how to take Mucuna but forget where. I ordered 98% from NutriVita.com. I have been taking sinimet along with Mucuna 15% but was told that is not near enough. Whoever had the info.I would appreciate hearing from them.

Safe Mucuna Pruriens Dosage Guidelines

How much Mucuna Pruriens powder should be consumed a day for the best results? With a proven track record stretching back many hundreds of years, it appears that the human body is able to tolerate Mucuna very well. Still it is best to stick to the lower end of the recommended Mucuna Pruriens dosage range.

The median dose which most people take is 500 mg per day. Anyone who is new to Mucuna should try a smaller dose, closer to 100 mg, up to 3 times per day. The maximum dose should not exceed 1 gram per day total.

All the available mucuna I've seen is 15 percent. I buy it at the health food store. I take two capsules, one 25 mg carbidopa and one amantadine and that works better for me than taking two sinemets (25/100). I still get a wave of nausea and a spell of dyskinesia, but for a much shorter period of time and less forcefully.

Be mindful of dyskinesia. They are both dopamine creators. I user Biovea 250 mgm however I also have DBS and take NO meds for PD.

Hi I hope you don’t mind me asking but did you have the dbs on one side like me or both sides. They are recommending now they I have the other side done , I’m thinking yes because the one side works so well

I bought the 99% from Nutrivita but have not started yet. I take 4-25/100 siminet and 3 15% capsules from NOW. Not sure how to get started on the powder or how much to take.

The Mucuna will provide the same relief that prescription meds provide. So, if you begin Mucuna, you should begin reducing the meds so that you don't overdose.

I take 1/2 tsp. of the powder (from NutriVita because it is pure) on an empty stomach in pure water. (My stomach is not able to handle more than that at a time.) Within 15-30 minutes I am feeling sleepy and the shaking has stopped. With the 1/2 tsp. of mucuna extract, I take a 400 mg. capsule of EGCg--Green Tea Extract. The green tea extends the mucuna. In four hours, I wake and take another dose same as above. I go back to bed and sleep at least four more hours.. God bless!

Forgot to ask do u take any pharma drugs along with the supplements u mentioned?

NutriVita 100% L- Dopa is their Mucuna. 3/8 tps. = 25mg/100mg sinimet. Can mix with

unsweet orgnic apple sauce. best to take with food as it can cause nausea.

NOW brand Dopa Mucuna: Standardized mucuna extract. Naturally occurring 15% L-Dopa. Amount per serving: Mucuna extract 800 mg (seed, min. 15% L-Dopa, naturally occurring. L-Dopa 120 mg.

OK, so what does the difference mean? In what quantities are the two supplements equal?
