Have you ever noticed that you can do some extraordinary physical moves without effort, stiffness or shaking; even on days when you can barely walk?

Some can run, some can dance. I can roller skate. Michael J Fox can ice skate. Its almost as if our minds and bodies want to remember and perform movement that we found pleasure in before we were diagnosed.

Some PWPs can still ski,

Some can still ride a bike.

What does your mind and body "remember"?

Hi Jill, i am sorry to hear of your diagnosis but I admire your courage to keep moving,Tai Chi sounds wonderful. I suggest a recumbent Exercycle if you want to start cycling.I pray a cure is found soon for all our sakes.

Hi Jerebet,

I started running after the birth of our son , 22yrs ago. I was dxd in 2005 at the age of 40 and made the decision that i would not let "it" stop me from doing what i enjoyed . Since 2001 I have completed 11 full marathons , and am currently training for no.12 in May this year. Running is something i can still do ,although i can't usually walk far before i start shuffling along. I started Tai Chi 18months ago and the difference it made was noticeable - my mood improved (calmer) my balance and movement became better and my posture has become better (much less back spasms) - I think it is truly awesome but i think i may have just linked up with a really good teacher . I suppose what i'm trying to say is - if you enjoy it , do it - and keep doing it while you still can .

I am hoping going to the gym with my daughter ...but for now I walk alittle each day and try to keep active because if I don't I am stiff and cannot move!

Yep. It makes no sense, but I can ice skate and roller skate, do cartwheels and somersaults, but walking across the room carrying a half empty cup of coffee. . .
