Mystery Leg pain..... I don’t know 🤔 where is it coming from!!!

Chicafromchitown profile image

1. From reducing mirapex I was taking three, went down to one.

2. A week ago I started the hdt b1 with 1 500mg capsule a day.

3. It’s vericouis veins (I know it’s misspelled) cuz the pain feels like my nerves are being squeezed it’s not RLS at least I don’t think so, last night I didn’t sleep at all, the minute I started falling asleep that weird feeling 😬 would wake me up. It’s more like electric shock......... maybe I am not explaining myself it’s just so painful 😣 if anyone is going through the same thing please reply. Thanks

I think you should quit the B1 for 3 to 5 days. If the pain stops re start with one 100 mg of B1 in the morning.....wait 5 to 7 days...if no pain, add one more 100 mg at 2 pm. Increase slowly. I only take 200 mg/day.

Chica why diid you reduce the mirapex? I am allmost certain you are having restless leg problems. Whatever decreasing thge mirapex is likely to have brought on your problem. Not caused it but revealed it now you are not taking enough to control it.

So you don’t think it’s from the hdt? I reduced mirapex cuz I’ve noticed that my body was getting stiffer, so if mirapex is for RLS I wonder why neurologists prescribes to pwp if you can get freezing episodes, I was starting to freeze on my legs, it would take a minute before my legs responded.

Hi, my husband experience a few nights of RLS when he came off his mirapex, he had never had RLS before. It didnt last more than a week. Did you taper of mirapex slowly? On two of the RLS occasions we gave him quarter of an 0.25mg mirapex and this worked. Strange that he never suffered RLS before yet when came off mirapex it showed itself. He is fine now and doing well on mucuna and other supplements.

Peb69 gave you a good advice. Cut those Mirapex tabs in half and take them to remedy leg problems. Also take magnesium supplements like mg citrate. Taper off mirapex over period of 3 to 4 weeks.

I think it is restless leg problem because you mentioned the electric shock sensation which is how some people describe restless leg syndrome.

As to mirapex I have never heard of it causing freezing. Where did you hear that?

As others have said, if coming off mirapex (or any other pd drug ) it needs to be done slowly, you have decreased 66% but I dont know overwhat time frame. Your body has to adjust.

And its the other way around, mirapex is for pd but is also used for restless legs. Your freezing is more likely disease than drug related.
