How much mucuna would equal 1 25/100 and will the sinemet help mucuna cross into the brain?

Also I was typing about something I've discovered for myself and Dystonia really bad cramps in feet/ halves. I found out that protein gives me the Dystonia/ cramping no matter how I wait not to interfere with sinemet. When I take my next dose it stops working, and I usually wait 20 min and take 2 more 25/100 it took from 3 -4:30 for cramps to stop. I kinda found out, because I only had milk mag. Minerals vit c. For constipation flush out. I had really bad swaying movements, from taking cardopa/levadopa every 3 hours. So my husband said try waiting as long ad you can for next dose I waited 9 am my first dose until 2:23 ( 5 hours) I felt good no swaying ,calm, left foot tippy toe position that's how it was in the beginning of Parkinsons. I didn't eat until 3pm, squash, No Dystonia !! Still hungry, ate a burrito at 4pm , gave myself 2 hours before next pills 7pm (4 half hours) took my pills and Dystonia started slowly and 7:30 severe cramps calves feet twisting, shaking all over. Took 2 more levadopa and had one lorazepam left from hospital, hoping it will calm me down. 8:30 ,PM FINALLY CRAMPING STOPPED. WENT TO BED. 4/1 took my 50/200 at 11:30. GOT UP AT 4 AM little bit of swaying not bad can deal with that. 6:30 am 2-25/100 waited 7 hours I took it then because I felt tremor, and bottom of feet felt tingly. I love protien, but for now, I guess it's vegetables. This Dystonia always seems to happen with protien, even with one egg and 5 pecans. I've been writing it down.

The amount of mucuna that would equal the levadopa in a 25/100 sinemet depends on the amount of levodopa in the mucuna. For example, 50 mg of mucuna that is 30% levodopa would contain 15mg of levodopa. It would take 333mg of the mucuna to yield the 100mg of levodopa in the 25/100 sinemet.

The carbidopa in the sinemet would help the levodopa in the mucuna cross the bbb but I don’t know if the amount of carbidopa in a 25/100 sinemet would be enough to handle the amount of levodopa in both the sinemet and the mucuna.

I don't think you would get thst high a percentage of l-dopa in mucuna

It depends on the concentration of l-dopa in the extract.

I've read that protein can interfere with absorption of L-dopa so I try to keep my doses one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. You can try magnesium for the cramping. I use Magnesium L-Threonate, Jarrow Mag Mind. I've found that for managing PD symptoms, there's no one thing that works. It's a combination of L-dopa, diet, supplements, herbs, lifestyle, stress reduction, and most importantly: exercise. Here's a link to some workout videos from NeuroFit BC that someone posted recently. I use them and I like t hem a lot:

Good luck and I hope this helps - JG
