I'm begin to have
uncomfortable toe curling, right foot only, and can't seem to stop it unless I take that shoe off and shift my weight onto it, while trying to raise my right toe. But it comes back again, randomly. Any suggestions how to stop this?

You are probably cramping a bit. I take one 400mg magnesium in the morning and one more at night! This helps my feet.
This is classic foot dystonia (abnormal muscle tone) that is a Parkinson’s symptom of low dopamine. Bearing weight on it helps. I wore a brace made by an orthotist and wore it with high top sneakers. However, after many years, I decided to start carbidopa/levadopa and then I was able to walk without my foot tightening and toes curled. I had Botox injections for years also which helped Since I started meds, I have no dystonia and can be so active and even wear regular shoes.
Starting c/l helped me as well. Before that wearing Vibram finger shoes helped.
For instant relief of muscle cramps, I take a teaspoon of yellow mustard. I carry little restaurant packets with me always.
Bgktoby That’s good to know. I’m wondering what it is about mustard that helps with the cramping. Where did you hear about it as a remedy?
What meds are you taking? When I went off c/l I had terrible foot dystonia. It ceased when I went back on.
I'm taking Sinemet one 25/100 every five hours and at bedtime one 25/100 ER . Until last week I was also taking 2 mg Ropinerole For restless leg. My restless leg Went away last week after having a nasty bout of flu and it has not yet returned. Very strange. I do take leg magnesium calcium 3 times A-day with meals And that hasn't seemed to stop this toe curling.
My neuro Doc reccommends BoTox shots. Sometimes yellow mustard helps me.
Before c/ land now occasionally during off periods I have it. I wore toe separators and yoga toes. Since it’s dystonia best to treat with medication.
May i suggest you listen to the michael j. Fox webinar on dystonia for a more thorough understanding of this problem and the range of options available
My husband suffered terribly with toe curling- left side only. He tried everything including toe caps, Dr. Comfort shoes, and rounds of Botox
( helped a little to relax toes) . Total relief came with a TENOTOMIE. A foot surgeon cut the tendons under the toes to to release them. After a short painless recovery, and no effect to gait or balance, he is walking everywhere with no pain and wearing normal shoes once more !
I find sketchers memory foam shoes help for mild relief.
My first symptoms were the toes curling. Very painful n I know what u r going through. Had been suffering since 2012. I had a shoulder operation in November last year and have only had two episodes where the toes would Curl. 3 things that I put it down to is obviously not working for three months getting a good night's sleep and I don't drink anymore. Hope this helps
informato se si tratta di un problema ortopedico. Per me prendono la forma di un martello e per risolvere visualizzo il piede normale, o meglio, dita a ventaglio e ritornano alla mia posizione normale grazie alla visualizzazione
