Who can tell how to cancel the prolonged merapexin and start taking only the mucuna and azilect?
Mucuna pruriens: Who can tell how to cancel... - Cure Parkinson's
Mucuna pruriens
If merapexin is the same as Mirapex it is a dopamine agonist that you should NOT stop all at once. You should discuss with your doctor how to reduce your dose slowly until it is safe to stop taking it. Are you having side effects from it?
Azilect is a mao inhibitor- you can not take with mucuna !
Hi bmakla - why wouldn’t you take azilect and mucuna when azilect plus Sinemet is pretty standard? Is it harder to predict mucuna response? FWIW I don’t take mucuna, I’d much rather know exactly how much levodopa I’m taking.
My Beloved was longterm on pramipexole. He weaned off very slowly. Then went on Rotigotine with good result against stiffness. He is very very sensitive and so is very slowly increasing by 1 mg every few months - this gives only moderate mobility but keeps him in the room i.e. communicative and cognitively present, which we value very highly.
