Here's why I take Fisetin (and you should too)!

Fisetin is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory! It also helps in the process of replacing damaged neurons. It's one of the few helpful nutrients that can get through the blood-brain barrier. Here's a 4-minute video that explains more: youtu.be/KMnOjsuWBKQ

How long have you been taking it? Have you noticed a difference after taking it and again how long before you notice the difference? Thanks

A little over a year. I change one thing at a time, give it 3 months, then decide on it. So, yes, and within 3 months.

Here's another video about antioxidants that can cross the blood-brain-barrier, including Fisetin.

Skip to the 7-minute mark if you just want to see that info.

At 8-minutes he talks about a study (n=1) that describes how Fisetin helped one person to "resolve" many of her PD symptoms. youtu.be/bSxdNJk-ej0

I got my first bottle from Vitacost. It was their brand, but when I went to re-order it, they no longer had it. So I ordered Doctor's Best brand from Vitacost. I just looked and now that's out of stock. I take 100 mg/ day. If anyone finds a good source please post it.

I believe that Fisetin keeps brain inflammation under control. I feel more relaxed when I take it. I think that it might be helping with falling asleep and RLS.

I guess I should state the obvious: a lot of PWP have probably tried Fisetin. The mentioned study is several years old, and I haven't found any reference to anyone else who has had reproducible, provable benefits from it. That being said, I believe that it's one of the supplements you should be taking. If you're going to take any supplement, this one makes a lot of sense, based on what's actually known about it. Don't take it hoping for a miracle. I take it hoping that it's one of several things I'm doing to slow PD down. End of obvious statement.

Out of interest do you take other supplements?

Yes. All are once daily unless otherwise stated.

D3 5,000 IU (if I can't get out in the sun for 15 minutes)

K2 100mcg (If I took D3; they go together)

Wild Blueberry Extract 1000mg (if I have no blueberries)

Non-fish, Algae-based Omega 3 DHA 200mg

Gaba 500mg

Magnesium 100mg 2x daily

Amla 250mg (aka Indian Gooseberry)

B12 500mcg every few days (because I'm vegan)

Ubiquinone 300mg (but might increase to 600mg or more)

B1 1.5 grams, taken throughout the day per Dr. Constantini (my current experiment)

Please let me know if you think I'm missing something vital.

woops something happened to my full message

husbands neurologist doesn't believe in supplement. prescribed cardopa/levodopa. didn't even want to know what supplements he was taking. we figure its because hubby has chronic lyme disease - and many doctors don't believe in chronic lyme. lyme disease can also cause loss of dopamine.

he takes vit b with metyhl, nac (a precursor for glutathione) and vitamin d
