I have what the Dr calls Neuropathic Pain. A burning discomfort in stomach and arms. Going to try Cannabis. Does anyone else have suggestions?

Hope it will help - your symptoms sound uncomfortable.

Hi Rscott

I take Amitriptyline (65 mg/day)

and B1, both good for neuropathic pain.

That’s good to know. My precision medical Dr mentioned Amitriptyline. I was not aware of B1. Do you mind sharing what kind of pain you experienced?

My Neuro mentioned Gabapentin but I hear that is addictive.

In my case, the pain was located in my right biceps and some in the shoulder. It was strong but would have been bearable if it were not constant.

Two things stopped it : first, training with weights, second amitriptyline at low dose (65 mg per day).

I mentioned B1, but B1 came months after. It is known for alleviating neuropathic pain.

Mine is burning discomfort primarily in the abdomen and arms. It wears you down after a while. Thanks for the tip on B1 and Amitriptyline. Dr today called in a script for Gabapentin so I’ll give that a try.

Xenos is there any study’s you are aware of for B1 and pain?

No Rscott, not really. My GP told me when I asked him about long term B1 use.

What else are you taking? Could it be causing the symptoms?

I am taking Rytari which actually helps at the right dose but still have pain.

Rscott,

Magnesium oil has pain relieving qualities, muscle relaxing qualities and can also have positive effects on nerve pain while being synergistic with some types of pain relievers. It also is well absorbed and gives you another source of magnesium which is beneficial for PWPs.

Thanks for that tip. I much prefer a natural approach.

Rscott,

In case you have not already seen it, here is a link to a post I did on magnesium and how it may be useful in PD:

I have a suggestion. Read the Divided mind by dr John Sarno and you will not need drugs. Your pain will be gone.
