Also watch out for different makers of the same med that can make a diference too.

Hi, I'm glad to hear that you're doing better. Did you talk to a pharmacist about the shelf life of the pills?

I just lost a long post grrh.

Bailey i am sure as sure that your weakness and pain will be due to stopping requip. I guess you stopped suddenly after taking it for a long time. There is a thing called DAWS - dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome.

You may need to go back on a smaller dose and gradually reduce it over months to let your body adjust to the change.

Good luck. I can write more if you have any questions. And I dont believe fast walking will cure it. 😌

Thanks for the information.

I may be having some withdrawal but what i have read C/L does not help withdrawal

but when take C/L I do not have any symptoms at all.

“The clinical manifestations of DAWS were highly stereotyped and closely resembled other psychostimulant withdrawal syndromes, with prominent psychiatric (anxiety, panic attacks, dysphoria, depression, agitation, irritability, fatigue) and autonomic (orthostatic hypertension, diaphoresis) manifestations,” stated the researchers. “Levodopa, other Parkinson’s disease medications, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and psychotherapy were of no benefit in mitigating DAWS symptoms."

Thats right, taking C/L in place of the ropinerole you have stopped doesnt help. But that doesnt mean that c/l doesnt work, it just that you cant replace one with the other. So some people try upping the C/l dose because they stopped ropinerol but they work differently so it doesnt fix the withdrawal problems.

You are right DAWS is a mood problem. I may be confusing matters talking about DAWS.

I can only give my experience of forgetting to take my requip, feeling really good the next day so continued not taking it, then bam after a few days I could barely walk, legs weak, movement very difficult. If you look at the drug information from the requip packet it says if you stop suddenly your Parkinsons symptoms may get much worse.

I hope you are improving and you dont need to worry about this info.
