HELP! Anyone develop sudden Freezing of Gait (FOG)?

In the last 30 days or so, this has hit me big time. I have tried what others suggest such as marching, arm swings, etc with little success. Initiating movement is near impossible. This is not only affecting me when I'm walking, but also when I awake in the middle of the night. Don't know if this is just a transient condition or likely to become permanent.. I'm 67 and was diagnosed in 2010. Thank you for your comments.

My husband used to suffer from this. We found taking a Vitamin K supplement has helped greatly.

How much Vit K? How often?

One of these daily - 75 micrograms which is 100% of the recommended daily dose.

Yes I have, and I fell once, resulting in a concussion and blunt force trauma to the head, in the middle of a street, face first. I froze, while walking my dog, and when she pulled me forward, I was locked in the freeze position, and fell to the pavement, face forward, unable to move and stop my fall. This was before I was diagnosed and put on Sinemet. Since then, I haven’t had too many freezing episodes.

Falling has not yet occurred, I've been lucky. Two concerns (1) the sudden emergence of FOG and (2) will this condition get worse. I go from being on to off in seconds. The freeze-ups occurr towards the end of my dosing schedule, which is every three hours (1.5 - 2 Sinemet 25/100).

Take care and thanks for responding.

I can't go into this now, I'm sorry, but I read of a device recently that you attach to your belt or pants etc that emits an infra red light to the ground in front of you when you freeze. It can detect when you freeze, the light hits the ground in front of you and your brain kicks in and you are on your way again. I hope this bit of information helps.
