Swallowing?

Any experience of recovery from impaired swallowing?

Recently fitted with a PEG so I can get more nourishment

you mean gulping? I get that when I skip meals, which is too often. I treat my bad bad appetite, maybe almost anorexic since I went on medication, with supplements which work every time. but, they contain 18mg of iron. I may be mistaken but that's not compatible with levocarb.

My husband got aspiration pneumonia from food going into the lungs because of his swallowing problem. He had to see a speech therapist to strengthen the tongue and throat muscles and we had to feed him all food and water in small amounts from a teaspoon and watch to ensure that he swallowed each time. There are helpful exercises on the Internet.
