Trying to help my Sister

My sister has PD. I’m trying to gain as much info as possible to help her. I’m presently viewing webinars concerning the use of cannibis. There is evidence it has been effective.

I just attended a seminar on Marijuana and PD. There is only anecdotal evidence of efficacy since marijuana is classified as an illegal controlled substance in the US. Some practitioners will write a recommendation for the oils but there are so many varieties (0ver 400) there is no standard recommendation or testing results available. One PD gentleman stated it helped a little but the high cost does not outweigh the benefits.

Beware CBD oils you buy in health food stores as they are made from hemp and not cannabis plants.

As always, your sister should discuss this with her Movement Disorder Specialist. Use of street cannabis can cause schizophrenia.

The best ways to overcome PD symptoms :

- Healthy Diet including B Vitamins, D and Omega3 &6 . B12 + Folate - Magnesium

- Eat more plant based proteins than animal proteins.

- High dose Thiamin HCL ( contact Dr Costantini)

- Cycling

- Fast walking

- Low dose medications if really needed.

- Yoga

- More social activities.

I assure you that you feel much better than taking any other substances.

He is an Italian neurologist who has done many researches on the effects of Thiamine HCL ( B1 vitamin) to treat major neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s , essential tremor, ... and many more.

He based in a small town called Viterbo almost 2 hours from Rome. If you search YouTube you can find videos of his patients before and after treatment.

You can contat him via email with a brief medical history, your weight, height,.. medications..etc.. He will get back to you within a day or two.If you need his email please send me a message via this website messaging system so I will forward it to you.

Hi Kia, My name is Sarene and my brother has been diagnosed with early stages of PD. He is now currently living with me and we’ve just started seeing a neurologist. I would appreciate the email for the Italian doctor to send him my brothers information. Thank you so much for posting and I look forward to hearing from you. God bless

HealthUnlocked application

I was dx 2012. High dose Thiamin HCL has greatly improved my condition. It has not been so with tremor. Vitacost brand in 500mg capsules is the best price. Capsules (not tablets) easy to swallow. Doc Costantini told me to take 2grams 2x day.

Stress plays a large part in PD symptoms

Even excitement causes my body to freeze

It's just part of the disease

I try to stay as level as possible

You can help your sister in so many ways! Go with her to appointments. Be sure she is seeing a Movement Disorder Specialist. LISTEN to her! Don't say you understand - you don't! Instead, just acknowledge her bad days and encourage her to stay social! A huge tragedy of this disease for many is isolation. And don't discuss unsupported treatments. Only medically proven! If she is not one to exercise, go with her to make sure she does!

Does thiamine help with dysphagia ? Anyone to comment ?

in reply toMehmetKutlu

Google eng to ital

dysphagia = disfagia

I suppose it would be best to ask Dr Costantini directly about dysphagia. As far as I could understand, he is always willing to help people with PD. Dysphagia scares me more than anything, since it also impairs pill intake, in addition to many other troubles.

Can I have his e-mail too ? Mine is: mkcelenk@hotmail.com.

Thank you !
