Hello - I try to avoid toxins especially pesticides. That said, I have PD and will be traveling soon. I am wondering if any one has found any bug repellent that is less or non toxic that works on mosquitos, ticks, flees and also what to use on my dog who I hike with. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

On Facebook, somebody said tea tree oil is poisonous to dogs. They were using a diffuser with tea tree oil and made their dog sick.

I have always used Skin So Soft (from Avon)on my whole family. It works very well. And I know this sounds strange but I have crushed garlic into a paste and put it in my dogs food , insects and ticks hate garlic therefore didn’t find her a tasty snack . I hope this helps and have a safe and pleasant trip🤗

I have found essential peppermint oil liberally applied, keeps biting bugs away. I use aura cassia. Other less expensive ones have been ineffective. For the itch the product that seems to work pretty well is CeraVe, for itching in the red and white tub

I use clove essential oil. I add it to a carrier such as vodka, put it in a small spray bottle for convenience to carry in my pocket and spray as needed.
