This sounds like i am writing a profile on a dating site

. I just want to let yall" know you are welcome to come and stay a day at my home.

We are about 20 miles from down town Dallas and there is a bus line you can ride to down town' it also goes to the Dallas Zoo, WE are about 30 minutes by car

from South Fork where they filmed the show Dallas. A lot of people like to go there why i don't know. When we were in Europe and the locals found out we were from Dallas they were all over us asking about South Fork and when we told them we had never been there they just could not believe it. Dallas is still big there. By the way i have a pair of cowboy boots some where but i don't ware them any way. We do not have horses but we have pasture land all around with llamas cows and some long horn cattle but they are not ours. The nearest oil well is about 50 miles west of Dallas and i don't have one here.

Thanks for reading this I have nothing else to do and you know what they say idle hands are the devils work shop.

Have a great week end.

hing to fill my day. There are a lot of things to do around here. Horse Back riding, my son and i have a 2 seat off road 4 wheel drive utv with a dump bed with seats for two more and we also have a four wheel drive 650 cc atv and plenty of room to ride. We are within walking distance of a large lake. We have very little traffic around here so we can take walks along the roads. We could just spend a few hours talking. I am flexible.

I like doing almost anything. I like to workout, watch movies at hone or out. I shoot guns. My son has 3 acres that I can shoot guns at. WE have all types from assalt weapons to hand guns l of all calipers. He has a Desert Eagle 45 caliper. I also like to take drives in the country in one of my Corvettes. We have a large home and 2 acre. I am retired and have a lot of time my hands and would love to spend a day with some of you. If you have a wife a husband or caregiver or anyone who travels with you they are welcome too. Just let me know when you will be here.

Ps

I think most people don't realize how big Texas is.

it is further from Dallas TX to El Paso TX than it is from El Paso to the border of California.

It is 915 miles from the southern tip of Texas to the north west tip of the Texas pan handle that is further than it is from New York to Chicago.

Wow! Bailey_Texas that is an incredible offer of hospitality! Have you had anyone take you up on the offer as of yet?

There's not much chance for us to visit but it warms my heart nonetheless to see such support offered to fellow sufferers with PD. You are an amazing individual!

Have you ever been there before? I haven't travelled much but my eldest son enjoys it. He says it is all beautiful out West. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Have visited Lake Louse in 2009 - fabulous place! Also, spent some time in Banff and Jasper National parks - a lot of memories of gorgeous mountains, hot springs and super expensive gas station (with no prices posted!) on Icefields Pkwy... Would love to go some day back there again.

Is your trip going to be a Road Trip, I am on the West Coast, Vancouver BC area, hitting the road for that long of a trip would be an adventure for sure :)

Bailey_Texas in reply to unsinkable

It will not be be a road trip for now it would take 3 days to just get there. When we go we will most likely fly into Seattle and go from there. We love to drive and it would be a lovely trip but i have issues some times that could make it difficult.

Yes it is a beautiful drive through the mountains and by all the lakes, after you cross over the border into Canada it would prob take you 1/2 day to drive........Hope it works out for you.

Bailey, you meet the best people on this website. Did you know Bob Raeburn from the UK? I corresponded with him for two years before his unfortunate passing from cancer which he discovered too late. Often times when you focus on one thing you miss more urgent stuff. So take very good care of your health and keep sharing.

RacerCP,

Thank you for the info on Bob Raeburn. I, too, was corresponding with Bob. The last I heard from him, he was in the hospital & said he had terminal cancer & would write when he got home, but I never heard from him. Such a wonderful & intelligent man! He made a significant contribution to Parkinson's by going through a trial where they had to drill into his brain. So sad!

Bob passed away either during that hospital stay or shortly thereafter.

After getting the PD diagnosis, at the lowest point of dealing with it, I started on this website. Bob reached out to me and was a source of strength and encouragement for the next two years. Despite whatever he was experiencing he never gave up and continued to plan, doing major renovations on his house and property, socializing and spreading his encouragement and hope. I don't know what I would have done without his guidance. Now at year five after diagnosis I have immersed myself in activities, exercise and PD programs.

Funny, you don’t visit SouthFork and we only visit Downton Abbey (aka Highclere Castle, right on our doorstep) when we have American visitors!

Thanks for the offer but anxiety still has the better of me and travel is off the agenda.

It's nice of you to invite us. Maybe we could somehow have a meeting somewhere to actually meet. The next World Conference for PD will be in Japan which seems too far away.

I was so moved to read your generous posting. Hooray for Texas if it grows hearts as big as your own.

This is a wonderful site!

Thank you for the complement.

I have never met a stranger only friends i have never met before. I have always stopped to help people change flat tires or when some one had a wreck i would be the first to stop and help. My wife thought i had great timing because i would be the first one there but i was just the first one willing to stop.

It don't happen any more i am not on the road as much and tires are much better now.

Amazing, so hospitable of you. I’d be straight round to shoot a gun but I’m in the UK!

I will be here for a few more years before the state of Texas takes my home and builds a freeway over where it stands now.

I am looking forward to it in a way. They have been working on the plans for the road for over 30 years and i have know about it for 20 years. I found out when i helped do a study for the road.

I have always like to shoot. My mom bought me my first rifle when i was 10. It is in my closet leaning on the wall.. She paid $8 for it. It is a 22 short or long rifle. Short or long refers to the length of the bullet. I also have a 3030 hunting rifle, a 357 magnum pistol and a 5 shoot 38 caliber pistol (Smith and Wesson air weight) that was my wife's dad's service weapon that he carried when he was a detective for the city of Dallas, TX.
