I'm in Toronto as well. You may want to check out rock steady boxing. There's sessions held in both Mississauga and Toronto (near Yorkdale mall). Also, for physio therapy, one step ahead mobility offers the LSVT therapy which is helpful. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks. Did try one step ahead but it made my muscle tighter. Feel yoga streching work better for me so looking for private yoga. May i know what med you take? My issue is modtly stiffness and it shifted my jaw a lot so hard to eat; feel my body twisted. Looking for good jaw treatment too.

I'm currently on sinemet 25/100 twice sometimes three times per day. Been on it for about 5 months. Hasn't had a huge impact on my physical symptoms (mainly rigidity and akinesia) but generally feel more even keel and normal, less anxiety. I'm 46 by the way and diagnosed about 2.5 years ago.

I don't know what is available to you locally.

On line my favourite PD exercise website is:

Also see <outthinkingparkinsons.com>

Yoga is good - I do it every morning. You also need exercise that is aerobic. Anything that you enjoy doing so you can do it every day.

I have made up my own routine. I start with some seated forward bends, head to knee. Then proceed to spinal twists, plow, cobra, downward dog to stretch out my calves, some sideward bends I made up of my own, and finish with a couple or few chin-ups (that last part is not yoga but it is what I do)

I take yoga and tai chi for suppleness and running for aerobic exercise. Biggest improvement has been through taking mannitol- lot of symptoms inproved including the apathy which has now left home and put me back into my normal glass half full feeling. Attitude is key as gets me motivated to run exercise etc. Which loosens stiffness etc.
