Although I'm not an authority, I think the answer is yes. It is part of the autonomic dysfunction and is responsible for constipation and swallowing issues as well as low blood pressure... arterial smooth muscle tone.
Hi- I'm not an expert either, I just helped my Grandmother who had Parkinson's the last 10 years of her life. I also think the answer is yes. which is why, as etterus pointed out, swallowing & constipation is an issue... I would also add fully being able to empty the bladder to the list. Im not sure what to do for smooth muscle function over all, but helping to ease each symptom on its own, as it presents itself is sometimes helpful. Maybe more water, softer food, extra fiber... And other little changes that might work for the individual (everyone is so different, some things work better for some and not for others). I wish you all the best...
THANK-YOU for your reply your bang on with the bladder
Question would you say if you are well medicate'd you don't get half the problem,s. I know that in most cases constipation is the end result because your smooth muscle is not pushing your food a long like it should .
