Be prepared with a list of questions to make sure you cover everything you would like answers to. But they should be giving you information freely at this stage.

When I had my first appt with the nurse at the Hallamshire, there was plenty time to have a detailed conversation. You can take along a list of questions that have been on your mind. But they also know what to ask you, and the conversation should just flow along. She gives you plenty information, which probably raises more questions along the way - so by the time you finish, you'll find you've probably covered everything. After that, you can always ring with further queries, and one of the nurses rings you back within two days.
