Can you list the food we should avoid in gluten free diet. I know only that bread rice pasta is part of it.

Thank you

Check the internet there are lots of good info out there. NO white anything, sugar, flour, potatoes, rice - NO added sugars only use real maple syrup, honey and coconut sugar period. Don't use white, wheat and most other flours ONLY use chick pea flour, coconut flour and almond flour to make desserts or anything. Make breads from those flours too. COMPLETELY different diet but VERY helpful to all in so many ways. My husband and I have been doing it faithfully for 3 months now - yesterday Thanksgiving we blew everything and paid the price. Alcohol also in VERY moderationThat's it in a nutshell.

I had a friend who was dx with MS.

A few years later the dx was changed to Coeliac disease.

All Ms symtoms went after stopping gluten.

Check out Dr. Terry Wahl's book & Tedx Talk:

"An integrative approach to healing chronic autoimmune conditions by a doctor, researcher, and sufferer of progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) whose TEDx talk is already a web sensation"

I've been on a gluten free diet since diagnosis. Perhaps that's why I'm doing well....

Do you keep to it very strictly? How have you progressed since diagnosis?

Always like to hear of successful strategies!

When at home I'm totally strict, when out I avoid biggies like flour, bread, pastry, cake. Dx nearly eight years ago. Still on starter dose of meds.

Yep, I am grain free. I am willing to do anything to slow or stop the progression. It is not easy, but it is easier than dystonia. :) I have mentioned the Wahl Protocol many times here. It is an interesting read and moved me to an anti-inflammatory diet. Although I follow the Wahl Protocol, I do not eat red meat or organs...beef is terrible for PD. I have read many things and combine all I have learned to adapt it specifically to PD recovery. I'm not going down without a fight! lol! Dr. Terry Wahl is an inspiration!

I have read many things too....then forget them.

Can you be more specific re meals. Husband has just helped me to my chair because Dystonia hit at 2.30 am after toilet stop. Shoulder also wrecked by the Dyskenesia from taking Madopar. Without Madopar I’d be in a wheelchair. I don’t want that so have to do what I do. I don’t do MEDS through the night.

Strong pain killers help with shoulder but now awful constipation.

These hours before daybreak are so lonely.

Symptoms I have many, including mumbness of left hand (fingers). I suspect that could be Carpal Tunnel as had that in the other hand many years ago and was fixed after an operation. ( I digress)

I would like to try a Gluten free diet but don’t know where to start. A simple sample of a diet would be so very much appreciated.

Cheers from Queensland
