Hi Dorothy. That was the beginning of my problems. I was fine except for a tremor until I started medication. 'When the pills wore off I was a mess - so they upped my medication. I got worse. I have now gone from 1000mg of Stalevo per day to 200mg. I still only feel bad as it wears off, but now it's only once per day. Soon I will be off it. I can't say that that would work for everyone, but medication wasn't helping me. As it wasn't curing me, I thought - why bother. I move slowly at times, but then I have a stern talk to myself. It doesn't hurt to move, so just speed it up!

I have about. 45 minute (total time) window before and after taking my pill that is. miserable.

Hi Dorothy

I feel dreadful when my medication wears off, I go from being almost like Wonder Woman to a wreck! My Levodopa was upped several weeks ago to four times a day and even on the meds’ I may move much better but I now feel nausea, tension headache and I now have tinnitus all the time! Trying to sort it out by seeing Neurologist, Specialist Nurse and GP.

It is hard for people to understand what living with Parkinson is really like.

All the best Lovepug

Hi. Try honey nasuer it helps

Hi Dot

I live in East Sussex England. Thanks for the tip ‘honey nasuer’. Sorry for my Tardy response. The last week has been awful! Two appointments have been cancelled, Specialist nurse and next Neurologist appointment. I just cried and then found myself laughing uncontrollably. I feel abandoned by the local Parkinson Community Service. I am on a waiting list for my next review appointment!

Sorry for the rant.

The good old NHS wait for a new patient appointment is 40 weeks in this part of England! No money for counselling, I have tried seeing someone myself but I felt I was getting nowhere and it was expensive, along with the cost of exercise classes etc. I feel very strange sometimes and then there are the few days when I too feel like I use to, just wish there were more of them!

All the best Dot.
