Hell no! Yackult is just a sugar drink masquerading as a probiotic. You need Kefir which you'll find in the Polish section of a supermarket (are you UK or US based?). But it's best if you can make your own which is more dynamic with cultures. Message me if you want further advice on cultivating the stuff. By the way, it did little for my symptoms I'm sorry to say.
I am also interested in getting right strains of probiotic to maintain gut flora, however would not recommend any fermented products like kefir, kimchi, etc. which are commonly suggested to improve micro biome. And the reason is that fermented products are high in histamine which can be depleting dopamine according to some sources: outthinkingparkinsons.com/a...
I personally have some genetic glitches in histamine clearance and have to avoid products high in histamine including some probiotic strains. There is a lot of information on internet on this subject. One of my favorite websites healinghistamine.com/
There are hundreds if not thousands of bacterial strains which can be called ‘probiotics’. I think you are right to be searching for a good one but it is extremely difficult to determine which ones are good for which symptoms. Suggest you subscribe to Consumerlab.com which sell NO product but which has explanations of loads of supplements, including yogurt and kefir, what they are thought to do and what they have been tested to do. They also evaluate products with regard to truth in labeling and comparative costs.
I firmly believe PD either begins in the gut or is greatly affected by it so I encourage you to pursue this. Also suggest you read Fiber Menace and although I don’t usually take stock in information when the author has something to sell, I think this is an exception.
I also have found that saccharomyces boulardii is extremely helpful in maintaining gut stability.
You will also want to study how to control inflammation thru supplementation...it is not our friend.
