Restless legs... bad name for a hideous complaint .. relief at last

Hi I have RSL.. restless doesn't begin to describe it.. pain, heat like a blow torch, heels in a vice grip... being turned by your worst enemy... I have tried everything prescription and others. Antidepressants, pain med, herbs, did I say I was a nutritionist, srn, and work in a health food shop? So I literally had done it all.. then I tried dmso gel.. I used 90% but there are other strengths as well.. and it's sold here in the U.K. Online.

I just rubbed it all over the calves, feet and heels.. it tingles a bit. Then went to bed... it was as if someone had turned off a switch.. my feet could touch one another..lay on top of each other without me having a fit. I can't begin to say how grateful I am to the universe for this gift.. so hence this posting..

I have just purchased a book on amazon Dmso and I am going to read all the research I can.. this stuff has been used for racehorses strains and injuries for decades... well I just decided 'I'll have what Red Rums having' .. nothing but the best for animals..yeah.. well God helps those...

Please note that I have not mentioned any brands of dmso.. I get no commission or kickbacks (prescribing incentives Drs. call it). If this experience helps anyone else I am happy.

Best wishes all.

I did a few hours research reading and found following.

DMSO has the ability to easily do something that few things can do: that is penetrate the skin and enter the blood stream and further has the ability to carry other things with it. Then it has the ability to do something almost nothing can do that is penetrate the brain membrane and then it can also carry things with it. Be careful what is on your skin and know that there are somethings on your skin that can be nasty if they get inside. I almost lost a leg to bacteria. More research required. Many studies going on now looking at it for use in treatment of many different diseases . Remember Marie Currie.

If you want to learn more about DMSO watch the following 60 Minutes episode from 1979:

youtube.com/playlist?list=P...

In the 1960's (I don' know the exact date) scientists tried using DMSO in combination with dopamine in order to pass the blood brain barrier to treat PD. DMSO could not get dopamine to enter the central nervous system - hence the need for the dopamine precursor levodopa.

In my past I used DMSO to heal a partial tendon tear and it did so in remarkable time. I initially used the methods of a doctor: put an ice pack on my tendon every 3 hours while it was wrapped in an athletic bandage. I also used ibuprophen every 6 hours and the large black and blue bruise (on the interior part of my right leg) was not healing. I just so had a bottle of 99.9% pure DMSO in my medicine cabinet waiting to be used. I applied it twice daily and was back to work in 10 days. The bruise disappeared in 3 days.

I also used DMSO to reverse osteo arthritis in both knees and now I do not need to use it because the herb Scutellaria baicalensis, Skullcap, is great for arthritis.

Here is a punk rock song featuring the band, The Dead Kennedy',s entitled DMSO:

DMSO can be used safely provided you do not have any contaminants on your skin. Just say you were working around chemicals and if they are not cleaned from the skin, when the DMSO is applied it will directly absorbed into the skin thus damaging the body. Once I thought I had washed it off of my skin and when I applied soap to wash off the residue I tasted the soap in my mouth almost immediately. Hence DMSO has to be respected to be used safely.

DMSO has powerful antimicrobial action:

im so glad you posted this! my mom has osteoarthritis of the knee. she is 85, and after a horrible experience with surgeon/surgery of the other knee, she doesnt want to go through that again. she has alot of pain, so after reading this, she ordered some online - 90% gel. i want to ask you how you applied it, and if you took any precautions in handling it? thanks in advance. and the 60 minutes segment got it right about big pharma - theres no money to be made if people arent ailing.

I apply mine directly using my clean dry hands and let dry for about 15 mins before getting dressed for bed. My 90 year old auntie is also trialling it.. she sometimes has to wear a cohesive bandage around her knees for support.. if she does this she places clean dry gauze between the elastic bandage and her skin.. otherwise she just does what I do if she is just staying indoors. She is taking the bull by the horns and doing it twice a day..I am doing it once a day... she has knee joint pain and mine is mainly calves and feet.. at the moment we are using gel but I will also try the liquid using a spray bottle to try a keep the costs down.. will keep you informed when my aunt has done a full week.. she has a great sense of adventure!!!

Just make sure that her skin is clear of any toxins/chemicals. If need be wash the knee with gentle soap then make sure the soap residue is removed with additional cold water. Cold water is good for closing the skin's pores (and then make sure the knee is dry). Let it rest then apply the DMSO with a latex glove on your/her hand. You do not want to walk around with it on your hand because you may accidentally touch your face/eyes or touch some sort of toxin. After about 20-30 minutes the DMSO should be absorbed and check the skin to make sure there is no residue. The DMSO stings and irritates the skin so after the DMSO is absorbed wash the knee with cold water - no soap, and the skin may need to be treated with a skin softener. 100% aloe vera or extra virgin coconut oil are both great for the skin and I used coconut oil because it is cheaper.

thanks! i had been wondering if she should use gloves, because who knows what theyre made with, but i guess its the lesser of 2 evils. i am also concerned about mercury. she doesnt have any more mercury fillings, but im sure she has residual mercury floating around (as some of the fillings were not removed properly). i am wondering if the dmso will cause the mercury to move about and cause problems, or maybe cause it to leave the body through the skin (that would be a good thing, but may not look good-as in eczema or some other skin issue} i have found a couple references to this online---"people that are mercury toxic have problems with sulphur", but nothing more specific.......

Here is an article about DMSO and mercury:

"Whereas many agents can inhibit renal ischemic injury, only hepatocyte growth factor, melatonin, N-acetylcysteine, and DMSO inhibit injury after mercuric chloride administration."
