Hi has anyone ever taken them self's of repineroale I was on 24 mg now down to 16 want to get to 8 mg then of all together with out introducing a new drug is it possible

I went from 16mg ropinirole CR to 8mg ropinirole CR plus an extra 75mg Stalevo. I did the change over about a week by going longer between the doses of the second 8mg pill, and taking the extra Stalevo pill if I felt bad.

I like ropinirole CR because its long half-life gives fairly stable foundations, but Stalevo gives me much better control.

The levodopa equivalent dose for 8mg ropinirole is 160mg, and for 75mg Stalevo it is 100mg.

I find the following regimen works for me: 5x75mg Stalevo; 8mg ropinirole CR; 1mg rasagiline.

Can I ask what is the thinking behind coming off ropinirole?

I was on it for about a year and a half, low dose I can't remember exactly, but I stopped taking it when I started on carbidopa/levodopa. I felt much better off of it, the swelling in my ankles went away, and I realized I had had some compulsive behaviors (luckily nothing harmful) while on it.
