Found this guy very interesting. ...Alexander Tressor.

Doing well ten years in.

Of particular interest is his video on root vegetables making a big difference to his dyskenisia.

Apologies for not being able to post the link but easily googled foc - no need for any subscription.

For the curious, here's some links. There are several Youtube videos by Alex Tressor, such as this one---

and here, for deeper involvement, is the web site:

Happy surfing!

An ideal workout routine from Alex Tressor/PDonthemove. Can easily do it at home. No special equipment required (except for a mat for the floor exercises.)

A follow-up on Seamus' remark. Alexander's personal endorsement of root vegetables (beets, turnips, carrots, etc.)--he also praises cabbage and green foods in general--is found at time mark 15:40-16:50 in this lecture:

(Of course, the usual caveat applies: what works for him may not work for you. You must find your own best diet by trial and error.)

this will be day 5 eating root veg and some other veg as well also bananas strawberries and orange juice. no gluten no sugar and no dairy. my biggest improvement has been stiffness and pain relief also water retention in my legs I don't have any swelling in my legs at all now. I can sleep better because I am not getting up to the bathroom every hour or 2. it is worth it to me. but God help me I still want a donut

This trial is not going well. My wife kindly roasted a bunch of root vegetables for me the last few days, such items as carrots, onions, leeks, turnips, sweet potatoes, and purple potatoes. But, it's getting hard for me to scarf these things down: except for the potatoes, which this carb-junkie can enjoy, they just do not appeal. Even with salt, it's a struggle to eat a plate full. No matter what praise it receives, I am also similarly repelled by coconut oil. Lord, send me some real food!

Yep, I hear you, having PD does not reduce the need for comfort foods. PWP's increased intake of chocolate--

Well I know I prefer sweet potatoes to meat, wheat or dairy. Thank you for the introduction to root vegetables which I had been told to avoid because they would add to my weight problem. NOW I am going to explore root vegetables as a main part of my diet and will let you know the results.

Glad to be helpful. I am sure going to give this a try, too. Unbeknownst to me, Seamus had beat me to the punch by posting 33 hours earlier a more dramatic endorsement by Alexander of his discovery of root vegetables:

I am doing the lectin avoidance diet, which is basically what Alex is doing. It has helped and if it continues to heal me, I will eat like this the rest of my life if I have to. Luckily I love veggies....especially root vegetables. Do not eat potatoes! Sweet potatoes or yams are fine, but no potatoes at all otherwise. I know, it sucks but my family is doing it with me and we are looking at it as an adventure on the road to health. Having PD with a 12 year old son to raise is NOT an option. My dad had it for 23 years.....I hope to beat that number and be completely functional til the end.
