Well it's taken 2 weeks but my wife and I have just put in a new bathroom. The old bath was cast iron weighed 300 lb and we had to smash it up with a sledge hammer.! Installed new bath ,sink and toilet ,wood panelled all round the bottom of the room, and tiled all round the top, Worked mon to fri 8am to 5 pm went to bed completely knackered every night , but what a sense of achievement.
Next up in August is a new kitchen. Hopefully that won't take so long now we have had a bit of practice.!
Still managed to get out on the bike for 50 Kim's on Sunday and 2 1/2 hrs tennis Saturday.
Did have to take a second Madopar some afternoons to keep me going but on the whole doing OK.

I'm green with envy! I've got a bathroom that needs some work but there's no way I can manhandle my own iron claw-foot tub. It's kind of funny thinking of smashing it to smithereens with a sledge hammer, ha! I've got to hand it to you -- that's a whale of a job, and to be rarin' to go on the kitchen after all that work is pretty impressive.
I wouldn't be doing the jobs if it wasn't for Sue my wife. She project manages the whole thing and does as much of the work as she can like the tiling and fiddly bits that I don't have the dexterity to do.Wouldn't even attempt the jobs without her help and support, shehas made me realise that I'm still capable to do most things despite PD.
It's not all plain sailing, I've realised how inflexible I've become with PD wanting to do things The way I always have and don't look outside the box, keeping things the same to avoid stress,so I'm working on that.
As I've said b4 I intend to do as much as I can for as long as I can and be in control of PD not it in control of me.
BRAVO.... IT TOOK ME 2 YEARS... just to feel good enough to get under the kitchen sink and replace our R.O. system. Take advantage of good times because there is something always lurking around the corner to steal that away.
Ha! If only I could get that old iron claw-foot tub from you! Mom and dad had one when I was growing up. I loved it! They got rid of it. My daughter bought one from an architectural salvage place and put it in her 1920s house. I know the tub isn't ideal or even feasible for my husband over time, but boy would I love to have one.
I love having a project to do (much to my husband's dismay). Have remodeled kitchen and baths ( though never replaced a tub), put in new floors, refurbished countless pieces of furniture, made built-ins...made a deck gate on Sunday. I could never afford to hire someone to do it all and the sense of satisfaction afterward - priceless. That said I am sore and stiff and tired doing it..I consider IT exercise. Kudos for then exercising beyond IT!
