Does daily intake of caffeine causes or reduces tremor ? Or reduced motor / non motor symtoms?
Caffeine : Does daily intake of caffeine... - Cure Parkinson's
Caffeine
Coffee is generally considered as good for the brain especially for cognition. As far as doses go, you will find anything from around 3 cups a day to 7 cups a day.
I love coffee - even though my sense of smell is gone - and after a short while, coffee just has no more action on blood pressure, sleep, nervousness nor anything. The organism adapts I guess.
I am led to believe that coffee and caffeine can reduce your chances of getting Pd. But if you have Pd, as I do, you may find that they increase your tremors, if you have tremors. That was my experience. I have not drunk coffee or tea for over 25 years now and if you look at my profile you will see that I now live a normal life, free of any Pd medication.
I have no experience of any medication other than MAO-b inhibitors and sinemet. So I can't help you I'm afraid.
ASIA
It is generally said that coffee increased tremor in essential tremor but not in the resting tremor of pd. not all on the forum have resting tremor so worth checking what type of tremor a person has if you are going to follow their recommendations.
I have a resting tremor and dont notice any difference with caffeine but research suggests it is good for our brain.
Over a time span of 15 years diagnosed, I have experienced only positive results from consuming coffee. The positive effect can be doubled if you have two do-nuts or one piece of pie or cake or of course a second coffee. Why would any one worry about taking too much caffeine, a natural remedy used by our ancestors for generations.
