Hot weather and parkinsons: Was wondering... - Cure Parkinson's
Hot weather and parkinsons
Me. It's horrible. Everyday.
Lots of arm jerking at moment and reply sent before I was finished. Try wearing a 'sweat band' around your forehead. I have dozens and they really help. As I write this I'm using energy and the sweating is troubling.
Increase water intake (a lot). Medication does not work well if you get dehydrated.
Wet a cotton scarf to wear round neck (I have one with water retaining crystals which stay cool).
Hold wrists under cold tap for a few minutes.
Wipe over all skin with a cold flannel and leave to dry naturally.
Drink hot tea!
118 degrees today. This is how the Valley of the Sun sees Summers approach.
I really HATE this hot weather. Makes me feel awful. I expect it affects all PWP in various ways.
One issue is dehydration. I drink lots of iced green tea and ice water. The green tea also gives me some energy to combat the fatigue. I live I. The southern us and it gets very hot
I use to hate the heat but I can feel the muscles in my back loosen up so much now. My gym had a dry sauna and there, and there would be actual people in there during the summer. I would say to myself, " getting some relief from the heat ? "
For me, cold is much worse. I love the heat and the sun as long as i dont have to wear a collar and tie. When im cold, i shake all over. And so i moved to Florida 3 yrs away.
I kid you NOT when I say that when I get cold I shiver like this guy, just more pronounced.
