Sympathetic nervous system still working okay, surprisingly. What does it mean?

A couple of weeks ago I found out my sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) that which makes for quickness in a startle, is still working. I was getting a load of clothes out of a chest high dryer and the dryer ball we use to help prevent wrinkles came flying out toward me ad I grabbed it mid-flight with my right hand. I said to my wife, hey did you know what I just did? I'm not supposed to be able to do that anymore. Then this afternoon I was feeding my wife off her bedside tray and she caused a large sippy cup she uses to start tumbling off her bed accidentally. Guess what? I caught it before it hit the carpet, with my right hand and quick just like the pre-PDdays. Have any of you experienced this/ I am over 5 years into this and I get around like a slow turtle usually.

I believe this apparent anomaly is quite common.. Although lacking the dexterity I once had and a bit clumsy by my own standards, I can be surprisingly quick off the mark at times. I read somewhere that threatened with being mown down by a vehicle a PWP is as quick to jump out of danger as anyone.

Oh, I apear to be a normal PWPD. Sad. I always yearned to become somebody special :)

A shock or 'fright' causes a burst of adrenalin to enable 'fight or flight'.

This still occurs when you have PD.

Thank you for the heads up on this startle response being normal. Back to turtle strolling I sort of wish I could be startled every day just to get mving like that.

I'm about to try a catching exercise using a tennis ball so I don't hurt myself. Thanks for the inspiration.
