Am looking at claiming attendance allowance as hubby as PD. Can anyone give me any advice about completing the forms please? Are they similar in criteria and scoring to DLA forms! Thanks in advance.

Join Parkinson's UK if you are not already a member (only £4 a year). They have support workers who will come and help you complete the form.

Go to citizen advice bureau with Drs appointments

It is very hard to fill in these forms as they are split into day time and night time. Get advice like the other members have said. But don't hold back on little things that your hubby can't do write it down no matter how trivial, as this condition will only get worse so better to claim now than later. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your kind replies, I have managed to get hold of the local citizens advice bureau and they are going to assist my husband to fill it in - might be complicated as he cannot write. They have already advised me to keep a diary for the week until the appointment. Hairdresser1 you are right about the trivial things as I was only thinking of the major things he struggles with but on reading some info today I realise the forms encompass a whole range of things.

Paid to over 65's who need care either during the day or the night. It is similar to DLA for the under 65's.
