I have been getting them regularly since the fall and wondered if anyone else does ? Can you share how you manage them?

Hi Annie. I have found that the best way to treat panic attacks and depression is to exercise. The best exercise is fast walking. It does not injure your ankles and knees and is cheap to do.

you can look at my website for all the info you need on the walking - reverseparkinsons.net

I find that deep breathing as well as naming my fear/anxiety is helpful. When I identify my concern, I can usually figure out 1) if it's justified or 2) is there anything I can do about it? If there is nothing I can do about it, even if it's justified, I breathe deeply and try to let it go. Sometimes I also think about what is the worse thing that can happen if my fear comes true. Usually meeting it head on like that allows me to realize it's not so bad after all and I can handle it. Last week I nearly missed my plane and it took every tool I had to not melt down at several junctures.

Prayer is best, 2nd best use a natural product called "True Calm" by NOW, you can get it at a health food store and from an on-line health food store on ebay and get it mailed to your home. I have used both for over 2 years successfully.

Anxiety and depression are a common symptom of Parkinson's. Add to that the anxiety and depression that besets us when we know we have Parkinsons and it is a tough row to hoe. I started on Lexapro 5 months after I was diagnosed and it helped immensely. Wellbutrin is also helpful, from what I have read. This symptom, like so many others, is worse for some of us and like any other symptom deserves to be treated.

Hi Annie,

My husband takes Charlottes Web CBD oil which we order from Stanley Brothers in Colorado. Not sure if you are in a state that sells medical marijuana or recreational, but he has been taking the CBD oil for over a year. He takes the strongest which is Everyday Advanced 5000mg, but a year ago he was very anxious, depressed, and maybe even experiencing some paranoia. Fast forward a year much of the anxiety, stress, depression are gone. He is happy. The CBD oil which has low THC, but high CBD is known to help people with brain disorders, such as anxiety, depression, bi-polar, obsession compulsive disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. For whatever reason the CBD oil calms the brain. It also helps him sleep at night. Take a look and if your in a state that sells medical marijuana or recreational give it a try. I saw a change in my husband the first week he started taking. Any questions get back to me. Laura

Do you need a state license to purchase this on line?

No this is sold as a supplement, since we have medical marijuana here in Florida they are allowed to ship to us. Look on the website Stanley Brothers in Colorado, you can call them and see if they ship to your state. Not sure if you remember but they are the brothers who created a strain to help the girl with seizures. They have since found out that CBD helps with so many other brain disorders including Parkinson's. It helps with sleeping as well. Do some research about CBD and the how much it has helped people with brain disorders. Get back to me with any questions. Again, we buy the CBD oil that has the most amount of CBD 5000mg, because my husband also suffers from REM Sleep disorder and this keeps him calm and sleeping. Thanks

My neurologist prescribed generic form of Lexapro 5 mg for anxiety. I am not depressed. Just a lot happening now and a little worry can balloon into a panic attack sweaty hands & feet and BP spikes. I am going to my primary physician next week for lab work to check blood Calcium and thyroid and D3. Diagnosed with pd May 2014 but symptoms started early 2012. Meds include high BP medications 5mg each of Lisinipril and Isradipine and Forteo for bone density and Rytary and Neupro for pd.
