The voice recognition on my Motorola varies from excellent to rubbish. I am wondering whether this is due to subtle variations in my vocal chords not audible to the naked ear so to speak. There is a research programme looking into the voice as a possible early indicator of PD.

Sounds possible. Sorry the voice recognition doesn't work well for you. I don't use it much but I find the intuitive words listed on the bottom as I post a wonderful tool.
