Not too smart

I'm not smart. I have two Masters Degrees, and a teaching credential and spent my life as a teacher and a mental health therapist. I helped some but I could have more if I was smarter.

My Dad was smart. He was a blacksmith. He could glance at a problem and his brain could vision how to fix it in a second. He asked me once what I did for a living. I told him I help people. He said "so they pay you for that?"

I am a manual laborer trying to squeeze into a smart brain. I don't have one

Watch me Daddy!

Hi. What did your daddy do? He helped people, I guess, and they paid him for that.

Now, what do you want to do for the rest of your life? Change to be a handyman? Go for it then. If not, don't.

Relax your brain, admire your dad and think well of yourself.

the bible says...' man's wisdom is the mere foolishness of God '.... so intelligence and wisdom is something we all want ... the question is ... what do we do with what we know??

It also says " he uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. " so congratulations, you can throw your lot in with all us fools.

My Dad was a member of the greatest generation. He was the best carpenter, plumber, electrician, roofer, mason, painter. You get the idea. There was little money back then so you had to know how to get things done. Mom and Dad never complained. They raised six of us - four girls and two boys. Father told me "if you really love your job, you'll never work another day in your life."

Our kids go off to college at 18-19 years old. At that age do they really know what they want to do for the rest of their life? There are plenty of 25 and 30 year olds who still don't know!

Everyone has a talent. Most of the time it takes more than 20 years to find this out.

Stay healthy and keep moving!

I always was jealous of the Future Farmers of America. They knew what they wanted to be.

I lived near a brook. I threw rocks.

There he lies, a rock thrower.

I'm chuckling over here, fJohn. Hey, guess what? You're talking about two different kinds of intelligence. I wish I had your dad's capacity for strategic thinking too. Sometimes I despair at my miniscule brain. However, I somehow sense you have the perfect degree of brain power for the kind of work you do, which is invaluable.

I don't think of my brain as having power. I think of it as a liability.

When I was small, I could throw rocks. Now I can't bend over.

Hm. This calls for an anti-gravity measure, enabling rocks to hurl themselves upward into your hands.

Too smart. I simply go to my favorite pond and "skim." The record is 17 skims. My brain said, "Thank You."

Thank you.

Those words caught my interest. They could be the first page of a page turner if you chose to try to make a living as a writer, a creative writer. They may be the introduction of the prime character in a novel for example. Continue to write about yourself is my encouragement. .
