My son took the SpectraCell micro-nutrient blood test on July, 2016. He suffers from HEAVY fatigue. The only area he was deficient was an Amino Acid, ASPARAGINE, related to fatigue and immune system stress. Not saying that is the cause of your husbands. To me, the TEST is VERY expensive. He has Kaiser insurance and they will not cover outside blood tests. You might want to consider a micro-nutrient test. Perhaps your insurance will pay. I just ordered the supplement with direction from another on this site....didn't know where to buy it.

Dr just checks him every 3 months all meds stay same,no issues addressed about fatigue ---guess I'll have to speak up and ask why?Frustrating when nothing helps,no one should be tired 24 hours ???He was very anemic 9 yrs ago before dx with parkinson's; after 4 way bypass and that was corrected, now he is always tired again.

Does he nap during day? Does he sleep well at nite? Does the fatigue cause fuzzy thinking or other symptoms?

Fatigue is a common and often major consequence of Parkinson's

Med candidates for fatigue:

Selegiline, a MAO-B inhibitor, and mild stimulant, may help a bit

Amantadine said to reduce fatigue. Aggravated my dry mouth though many people can tolerate it.

Methylphenidate, a.k.a ritalin, is medically recognized as improving PD fatigue

LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) has been tested with Parkinson's patients and does decrease fatigue. (per Silvestrov)

NAC - N-acetylcysteine - improves Parkinson's generally so may help

Fatigue is a sign of Parkinson's and can start before diagnosis. Watching the time can improve the situation - start by reducing the length of sitting times during the day. Hopefully build up wake-time and be more interested in doing things.

I suffer from fatigue big time and it was a major symptom before I was diagnosed with PD. In fact last year my doctor sent me to a neuro to get tested for MS. This was before my tremors started and the neuro did not pick up on the PD. He did however find that I had low B12 and started me on B12 shots and it has helped me with the fatigue somewhat. Getting on the PD meds this year is what has really helped but I still can't do what I once did even two years ago. I get exhausted so quickly.
