Appendix study

Movement Disorder gave John Woulfe their first paper of the year award for his study on PD and its possible locus in the appendix. There will be further research as a result of his study as there are more nerve sources for alpha nuclein than in any other part of the gut. The fact that there are some PDers who still have or not have their appendix does not negate the possibility that the organ is not involved in the disease. There may be a greater source for AN but the appendix is an organ involved in the immune system....complicated.
