If you are male, have you tried testosterone supplementation to help fight daytime sleepiness and increase energy? My husband uses androgel and finds it really helps. Not a cure but he does much better when he uses it as prescribed.

I take 2.5 grams of Androgel (A) per day to replace low Testerone (T) For a few months, I started at 5.0 grams but blood tests showed the T too high. The A is combined with PD meds and exercise/stretching. The feeling of normality is exillerating as long as it lasts - which is usually not more than two hours. The benefit of the A is that I may be able to walk more and at a better clip to increase my endurance and energy. I haven't tested this because I'm recovering from pneumonia (since last July) and am still very weak.
Low T showed up on a blood test and I was prescribed Androgel 1% gel, first one packet (5 gr.) then 2 of them. I regained some energy, libido, and muscle mass, because I was skin and bones before. No "exhilaration". If I miss a day I don't notice it. This was about a year and a half ago, just before my PD dx
Latest blood work shows normal T but my doc says I should stay on a while. I Dont like it so much because it it tedious to apply, its dangerous to my wife (she;s not supposed to be in contact with the area that wears the gel) and my testicles are getting smaller I think.
It has helped his muscle mass and endurance. I can tell when he forgets to apply it. He is on 5%. They need to watch his hemoglobin though as it is high normal. The hemotologist gave us guidance on what is too high and then he will need to either reduce the dose or stop.
