Airport Security

I had DBS surgery a year ago and tomorrow I am going to travel by plane. I am concerned if there is any problem going through security.

Your medical provider should have provided you with cards to show TSA. If not, you'll need extra time to play show-n-tell time with the agents. Most imaging systems are fine but depending on your equipment it could cause a problem. So, allow extra time for a pat-down search. But, you should ask to board the plane first

I don't mean to laugh, but It was mildly amusing I had to smile.

All the alarms going off at the airport like a cocophony of Church Bells (or perhaps it is sirens now)

My favorite word 'cacophony'.....

Just back from 5 weeks away heavy going carrying a bag full of medication. 5 trays of tablets, movicol and senokot. Taking them in and out of the bag to show them all the time through securities. Plus your liquids, iPad, mobile phone. A nightmare for anyone with parkinson trying to do it quickly so as not to hold up the queue.

And I wish someone would invent a big sign I can put around my neck if I need the help of a wheelchair between gates saying ' yes I can walk but I'm afraid I might struggle to the next gate. So please don't look at me as if I'm pretending

I have Parkinson's and it can't be bandaged or put in plaster.

I felt so intimidated I think I'll take my chances next time and stay on my feet.

You need a Hat with a Flashing LOGO possibly a blue flashing light on top also. stating ''Parkie please make way'' That will either shock them or get you arrested.

I always get a wheel chair because gait impaired. Attendant takes me to front of the line and my companion goes too. They put all the stuff through the xray machine. I can stand for the patdown. I tip the attendant from 3 to 5 $.

Good one owdsod ....but had enough accusing eyes upon me from other travelers when I had wheelchair assistance on way home. What is it with people do they all think that if you're limbs aren't in plaster, you don't have an oxygen tank attached or your not elderly that you've no need to go before them......I really think that a few science classes at secondary school should be set aside for talkin about different illnesses so that they not only gain respect for the afflicted but more importantly they can inform their elders when they start mumbling. I hope you got on okay Brooke that was an interesting question let us know how it went

call the airport

we went from Providence to FL this spring and both time were ushered into the handicapped and elderly line. They barely looked at the guy behind us with his sleep apnea equip. Relax and have a good time.

Thamks to all that gave me information. Trip went well No problem. Got a wheelchair and went thru had to show Dbs card. I was treated with kindness and respect, Be happy and smile all the time.. Until this trip I never

realized how nice people there are and so many willing

to help.

Let the airport know before hand and who you are travelling with (company).

Letter from neuro etc...

You should have no problems.

I have never heard of any-one having problems.
